A New Year and some progress....

It feels good to have achieved some actaul sewing. I have managed to cut out Month 2 through 5 of Urban Owls BOM and sewn Blocks 3 and 4.

These two are ready to stitch.

The flying geese were made using this four-from-one method on this Connecting Threads tutorial. I really liked this method and glad I have learnt it as I would like to make a full quilt of various sized flying geese.

The second house is not quite finished as the cutting directions were incorrect for the sky on the sides of the house, so just waiting on some more fabric to arrive. I still have the handwork to complete for these blocks.

Starting again ......

Today I decided to restart blogging after a long break. I started blogging after I sold my patchwork shop Honeysuckle Cottage back in 2007, but with working and studying I lost time and motivation to keep it up. Sadly I have not been able to resurrect my old blog, so I am starting over again.  I am hoping blogging will help me get my mojo back to sew and be creative instead of just buying fabric.

 It has been several years since I last sewed, and now I want to I just don't know where to start. I have recently started receiving a block of the month from Material Obsession called Urban Owls designed by Wendy Williams.
