A few more quilts finished this week. These two belong to Toni @ the red boot company. The first one I can only show a sneek peak as it is a project for a magazine....

This lovely bright one is a new pattern Toni will be offering...love this bubble quilting pattern..so fun !

I have signed up for the cutest Pincushion Club over at Quilt Fabric Delights - can't wait till the first one arrives, each month you get a pakage of goodies to make a pincushion from these wonderful designers - Leanne Beasley, Melly & Me, Rosalie Quinlan Designs, the Janelle Wind Collection, Crabapple Hill Studio , Squirrel Momma and Pinks and Needles. Plus each month includes a pintopper from Pinks and Needles, I have been eyeing those off for ages, they are so cute. Sarah is also offering a giveaway of a Pintopper, so head on over !

I have been slowly, and I mean slowly doing this paper piecing of a night. This was a starter pack from Sue Daley

I am finally getting a little faster making them ! Just deciding on what colour to do the other triangle in.

Finally Back

Uni is over for the semester...now just the wait on the exam mark for statistics, fingers crossed for a pass ! It feels good to be able to relax for a while and do some guilt free sewing. Have had a few requests for a pic of Han's ball shoes ( and Greg), they seem to have gone missing in action  (not Greg, though maybe that would be nice to have Mr no smoker dissapear for a month or so), so as soon as they surface I will post a pic.

Have only quilted a few customer quilts in the last few weeks.

This one is a pretty strippy quilt made from strips from a jelly roll. It has a lovely fresh feel to it.

From cot size to king size, with this really pretty one. Isn't the lovely toile type print featured well.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well the Ball went well, but I am sure glad this week is over. I was still hemming the dress an hour before it was time to get dressed, sitting in the coffee shop next to the hairdressers. Luckily I bumped into two other Mum's and they helped !

The places you find blogger husbands !

Jack and I headed of to "the big smoke" for some retail therapy. We live 2 hours from the nearest big town where there are chain stores and a large department store.... on our list were mainly last minute items needed for the big ball next Friday night. We decided to leave the man who has stopped smoking at home, thought it may be a little to stressful even though most of the items needed were for him !

I was flicking through the ties with the sales guy and I commented how good the ties would look cut up in a patchwork quilt..... he says oh no are you one of those ladies who sews.... uuummmm yes I used to own a patchwork shop.... after a bit more chatting  I worked out that he was Flutterby Angel's husband...... don't you think incidents like this are what makes blogging so great !

Wacky Week ..

A split lip ( fooling around with younger brother) .....

and the painting still happening...

are causing a bit of chaos around here...... AND Mr Painter (aka husband) has decided the time is right to stop smoking %#$@*&^

Split lip Jack is partnering a lovely girl at a deb ball next Friday, so she is quietly hysterical wondering what Jack will do to himself between now and then (remember broken foot, causing 5 weeks of missed dance practice). I am madly trying to study for a Uni statistics exam in 2 1/2 weeks in any spare moment and it seems to be not sticking in my poor brain real well ! I will be glad when peace descends on this house...

I received another lovely PIF gift from Gail ..

and I didn't notice at first, but it has a stitchery on the front and the back..

This is the bag I was sewing the handles on when Jack split his lip on Sunday night... It is from Leanne's Romancing The Road book ...

I have had the book and fabric in a container since it came out and was inspired to make it when I saw Chookyblue's the other day. It is a very handy, very BIG bag (Chookyblue reckons it is strong enough to hold 4 bottles of wine besides other contents !)

I also caught up on the 5 blocks for Crazy Mom's Star Quilt along...

Have finished quilting this customer quilt, lovely big bright flannel, very snuggly and warm ...

Also this small one made from fabrics from the customer's Mother's sewing scraps, a nice memory of dresses and shirts made for grandchildren.

Miss LouLou is feeling the chaos around here also.... very chilly last night ... Where's my basket ? It's freezing...... mmmm this will do !
